Ravenous Readers

I BOUGHT IT!!!! :-)

I am such a ridiculous procrastinator. I simply cannot function without deadlines.

We are supposed to buy/read the book in January and discuss it in February, right? Well, given that today is officially the absolute last day in January, I went to the nearest Barnes and Noble (actually, I think it was a Borders), and I bought the book. Yay!!!

Goal #1: Buy Book. Mission accomplished. Goal #2: Read Book. Okay, now, here's where that little "deadline" thing comes in. Ladies, help! I can't remember if we've already selected a date to cyberdiscuss the book. Have we? If we have, what is it? If we haven't, how about the weekend of either Feb. 10th or 17th?

  • Actually, we are reading in February and discussing beginning March 1. I hadn't expected everything to come together with this little group quite so quickly, but I think we will stick with this timeline as we had discussed before (though I can see why you were unsure. I remember talking about this, but I cannot find the info anywhere!). You bought yourself some time, baby!

  • Wow; this is *GREAT* news!! :) Now I can actually read the book at a slower pace and without any pressure.

  • I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the weekend of the 17th!!! I got absolutly zero - zip - nada-- read on my trip. (It was fun, I'll post more later..)

I'm sitting here blogging and falling asleep instead of reading.. I guess that's what arising at 5 am, conferencing, flying south 800 or so miles, and then going to 3 hours of dance practice will do for a ravenous reader...

  • Help! How do you post an original thought, not a comment? My cluelessness is showing, I know, but would welcome insight.

Mea culpa for missing the last week's worth of chat. We've been on the road, so my internet access has been sporadic. Just settling back in and will be on more.

But, this leads me to my question. Trying to catch up after missing a week, I was overwhelmed about what to check where ... and I know I missed some posts. (Though I could have done without knowing my cousin has the hots for Bob Barker. Damn. Why didn't I miss that one??) Anyway, you folks with blog experience: is there a good way to organize everything by date, or flag unread, or something, so that are conversations flow more? I'd like to post replies to some things I missed, but I don't know if anyone's checking anything other than the most recent etc. etc. (And, I don't know to post 'fresh' comments!)

Ideas, anyone? Or am I the only one who's getting confused?

  • I just found this blog/club and it looks fun! May I read, and comment, and hang out with you? :) I don't know if you're keeping members to just the people who contribute posts, but I'd love to tag along if I'm allowed. I'll go get the book tonight!
If I'm intruding though, please feel free to say so.
